Dr. Sharrica Miller

Dr. Sharrica Miller is a nurse and board certified pediatric nurse practitioner with over 15 years of experience working with children and families. After spending 12 years of her childhood in foster care, Dr. Miller went on to obtain her BSN from Howard University and worked bedside in several areas including pediatrics, critical care, and med-surg. She recently obtained her PhD in nursing from UCLA in 2017 where she researched mental health outcomes and social determinants of health among transitional age foster youth.
She is currently tenure-track faculty at California State University, Fullerton where she also serves as lead of the Diversity Support Team in the school of nursing. Dr. Miller is a foster youth mentor and advocate and recently won the Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity award for her work with foster care agencies both on campus and in the community. She has been mentoring LGBTQI foster youth and facilitating workshops for the past decade and has a 5-year-old daughter that she parents consciously.
